NFL Overitme

The NFL overtime rule is ridiculous. So lets see Philly and Cincinnati played 5 quarters and we still dont have a winner. Adopt the NCAA rule and quit letting games be tied or games being decided by a coin toss.

I say play a quarter and whoever is ahead wins. If they are tied play another quarter and so on.

It's the No Fun League. What do you expect? If it makes things more interesting or exciting, it doesn't belong.

I like PVFAN's idea. But make it interesting by making that opening coin toss matter that much more. The team that wins the toss at the start of the game gets to choose to kick or return at the start of OT. Then go with PVFAN's idea.

Don't look for a change. Heard one of the NFL Network guys say that the owners and GMs would never vote for a new rule. it really does stink.

I just saw the post game news conference from Donavan McNabb. Someone please tell me that he just did not say that "I was unaware that there were ties in the National Football League". He really and truely didn't know that there could have been a tie at the end of OT.

To make matters worse he said, "What are they going to do in the playoffs or if this happened in the Super Bowl". Surely to GOD he should know these things. Most any knowledgeable sports fan would know these things. Does he honestly think that in a playoff game if it were tied at the end of 1 OT that they would call it and say welp, neither can advance sorry.

First time in 6 years a tie has happened in the NFL. So it happens, but not very often. If this was happening on a yearly basis I'd say fix it.

If theres something worth fixing in football, the NCAA needs a playoff system. But I guess something that makes it more interesting and exciting don't belong. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!! Those teams playing to a tie after 5 qtrs is like us going to work for free. I like the "No Fun League" title. That rule needs to be addressed.
